Project Title: Covid-19 response for ready-made garment women workers in Bangladesh

Project Objective:
To increase resilience capacity of vulnerable communities to cope with the COVID-19 through following community led actions:
- Aware community on COVID-19 pandemic, its impact, preventive measures and how to deal with including hygiene practice and social
- Provide hygiene kits to vulnerable women garment workers families to take prevention measures of Covid-19
- Provide Multipurpose Cash grant to most vulnerable families to recovery of livelihood Ensure protective equipment’s for volunteers and staff who will work in COVDI-19 response
Direct beneficiaries
the project direct beneficiaries are 1356 (low income garment workers) and 1687 (jobless garment workers).
Outcome-1: 10125 ready-made garment workers and community members have increased awareness of how to minimize the risk of Covid-19 transmission, their rights and entitlements (including workplace safety, compensation, and workers protection insurance), and prevention of violence against women and girls.
Outcome-2: The wellbeing of 1,560 ready-made garment workers who have been impacted by Covid-19, and their families, are improved.
Outcome-3: Ready-made garment workers in Dhaka and Chittagong facing issues of violence and harassment receive medical and legal support as appropriate, and their voices are amplified..
Major activities:
- Capacity building for community volunteers and worker leaders.
- Capacity building for community volunteers and worker
- Awareness Raising Campaign for community people s about Covid-19 risk mitigation strategies, health and safety measures, and prevention of violence against women and girls.
- Procurement & distribution of hygiene
- Distribution and support Cash grants to Jobless Workers.
- Facilitate rights and awareness sessions to train and inform workers regarding their rights and claims in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic, in line with ILO Better Work guidelines.
- Provide support through case workers equipped to provide emergency psychosocial first aid to survivors of violence against women and link them with appropriate service providers.
