Activities of the project:

Output-1:

Activity 1.1 Select the national and local newspapers which will be monitored;
Activity 1.2 Input initial data from newspapers into excel database and onto website;
Activity 1.3 Undertake analysis by geographical location, by industry, by cause, by date;

Output-2:

Activity 2.1 Prepare two lists of selected cases for investigation; one for BRAC-HRLS and other for SRS
Activity 2.2 Investigate the deaths cases that took place in the Dhaka city and CRP, Savar

Output-3:

Activity 3.1 Undertake review of about 600 investigations (200/year) undertaken into workplace deaths;
Activity 3.2 Where legal cases are possible, contact dependent families to confirm support for legal case;

Output-4:

Activity 4.1 Drafting of legal petitions to be placed before the labour court;
Activity 4.2 Filing the cases through BLAST before the labour courts with relevant documents;
Activity 4.3 Follow-up with BLAST the cases

Output-5:

Activity 5.1 Filtering out those cases which deserve investigation by DIFE;
Activity 5.2Send the report to DIFE and RAJUK

Output-6:

Activity 6.1 Conduct 3 national seminar/workshops on workplace health, safety and compensation in Dhaka in three years
Activity 6.2 Conduct 3 regional workshops on workplace health and safety in 3 divisional cities like Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi.
Activity 6.3 Further action in High Court to increase pressure on government to comply with court orders

Output-7:

Activity 7.1 Print 750 copies of Guidance

Output-8:

Activity 8.1 Conduct 2 trainings with 25 developers with total 50 participants in Dhaka.

Output-9:

Activity 9.1 Conduct 10 trainings with total 200 participants

Activity 10.1 Select theme and text of the booklet/leaflet/flier
Activity 10.2 Collect quotations from the competent printers

Activity 11.6 Dissemination of the report (seminar, postal) among the stakeholders
